2) 把孩子惯坏。

• Grandparents are often tempted to spoil their grandchildren.祖父母往往情不自禁把孙子辈惯坏。
• A spoilt child is rarely popular with other children.惯坏的孩子，很少得到其他孩子的欢迎。

3) 作为不及物动词，“变坏”。

• Meat spoils in warm weather.天气热，肉类就变坏。

4) 古英语 spoil 作为及物动词还有“夺取”的意思，但是搭配与 deprive 和 rob 相同，是 spoil somebody of something（spoil 作为名词的仍然保留“夺获物”、“战利品”的意义）。

正面的意义，就是从“惯坏”中取出其“优渥对待”的正面部分意义，把“坏结果”排除掉，变成“让好好享受一番”。

尤其是许多美容和消除疲劳的广告，往往将 spoil 这个动词用于正面意义。

• Spoil your face, body and soul at the finest spa in the Northeast.请前来这个东北部最讲究的温泉疗养地来美容脸部及消除身心疲劳。

但是 spoil 的负面意义也往往出现在广告中。

• No need to let any little bulges spoil your body any more, because XX has developed some exceptional slimming products.不必再让小小的发胖部位把你的体形破坏掉了，因为 XX 已经开发出一些非常有效的减肥产品。

所以 spoil your body 或 spoil your face 之类的说法，都有正面或负面的歧义，阅读时，尤其是使用时，要特别小心。
