A virus that attacks actinomycetes.
1947H. C. Reilly et al. in Jrnl. Bacteriol. LIV. 451 The term ‘bacteriophage’ is usually applied to the virus or phage of bacteria, and the term ‘mycophage’ to that of fungi. By analogy, the term ‘actinophage’ may be used to designate the phage of actinomycetes.1951Bacteriol.
