一年一度的春季又来到了，全国人民给地球妈妈披上了新装，有工人、有农民、还有机关干部和青少年同学们，他们浩浩荡荡背着锄头，手拿铁锹和一捆捆树苗到那光秃秃的山坡上和那宽阔的公路旁植树。
Once a year go forward with great strength and vigour. The whole nation has put on new clothes for the mother of the whole country, including workers, peasants, and cadres and teenagers. They are carrying hoes, shovel and a bunch of saplings to the bare hillside and the broad road.
同学们也在老师的带领下来到了一个荒坡上植树造林，有的拿锄头挖洞；有的把树苗放入洞中，再培上细土，然后用脚将培土踩实，手轻轻往上提这就使树根伸展，最后浇点水，使它快快成活。同学们干得满头大汗，唱着歌，山坡上一片沸腾。在这一天里，山坡上种满了树苗，披上了绿装。风吹着小树频频点头，就好像在说：“谢谢你们”为地球披上了新装。
Under the guidance of the teacher, the students also planted trees on a barren slope, some dug holes with hoes, some put saplings into the holes, then cultivated fine soil, then stepped on the soil with feet, raised the roots gently, and finally poured some water to make it survive quickly. The students were sweating and singing, and the hillside was boiling. On this day, the hillside is covered with seedlings and green clothes. Wind blowing trees nodded frequently, as if to say: "thank you" for the earth put on a new outfit.
同学们高举队旗，排着整整齐齐的队伍，带着鲜艳的红领巾迎风吹过，不断地在胸前飘动，歌声响亮，一天的劳动一点也不觉得疲劳，反而觉得高兴，因为我们做了一件有意义的事。
The students held up the team flag, lined up in a neat line, with a bright red scarf blowing in the wind, constantly fluttering in front of their chest, singing loudly. They did not feel tired in a day's work, but felt happy, because we did a meaningful thing.
