My Weekend
Last weekend, I had a great time practicing my English skills. As a sixth grader, I believe it's important to constantly improve my language abilities in order to become more fluent and confident in English.
On Saturday morning, I woke up early and participated in an English speaking competition held at my school. It was an exciting event, with students from different grades showcasing their speaking skills. I had prepared a speech about my favorite book and was nervous yet eager to present it. Despite the slight nervousness, I managed to deliver my speech smoothly and even received positive feedback from the judges. This experience boosted my confidence and motivated me to continue working hard on my English speaking skills.
In the afternoon, I went to the local library to borrow some English books. I have always enjoyed reading, and I believe it is a great way to improve my vocabulary and comprehension. I spent a few hours searching for interesting books and finally settled on a mystery novel. I couldn't wait to dive into the thrilling story and challenge myself with unfamiliar words and phrases.
On Sunday, I decided to practice my writing skills. I wrote a short story in English and revised it multiple times to ensure it was well-structured and grammatically correct. Writing in English can be challenging, but I find it rewarding to see my progress over time. After finishing my story, I asked my older sister, who is fluent in English, to proofread it and provide feedback. Her suggestions were helpful in improving my writing, and I made sure to apply them to future pieces.
In the evening, I had an English study session with a group of friends. We gathered at one of our homes and created a fun and interactive environment to practice speaking and listening. We played English word games, discussed current events, and even watched a short English movie with subtitles. It was a lot of fun, and we all learned new words and phrases from each other.
Overall, my weekend was filled with English activities and practice. I believe that continuous exposure and practice are crucial in improving my language skills. I am determined to keep striving and become even more proficient in English.
