Ever since early this century, electricity tas become an essential part of our life. Modern industrial and agricultural production must rely on it. Modem traffic, communi cation and entertainment as well as our daily life have much to do with it. It can he said that ours is an electric age.
If there were no electric power, no machines could be run, no living things could survive, no civilization would exist in the world. It’s clear that without electric power living things would be hard to live on the earth.
Therefore, we must go out of our way to exploit waterpower resources and sparingly
use electricity so as to make good use of it in our country.

自从本世纪初开始，电就变成了我们生活中重要的部分。现代的工农业生产要靠电。现代交通、通讯、娱乐以及我们的日常生活都与电密切相关。可以这样说，我们的时代是电的时代。
如果没有电力，机器不能开动，生物难以生存，世界上就没有文明存在。显而易见，没有电力，有生命的东西就很难在地球上生存。
因此，我们必须努力开发水利资源，节约用电，以便在我国很好的利用电力。
