Weibull, n. Math.|ˈvaɪbʊl|
The name of Ernst H. W. Weibull (1887–1979), Swedish physicist, used attrib. to designate a probability distribution (discussed by Weibull in Jrnl. Applied Mech. (1951) XVIII. 293) with the probability density function of the form a(x-ε)k-1 exp (-b(x-ε)k) , where a, b, k (>1), and ε are positive constants, and x>ε .
