1883P. Geddes in Encycl. Brit. XVI. 842/1 In 1866 appeared the Generelle Morphologie of Haeckel. Here pure morphology is distinguished into two sub-sciences,—the first purely structural, tectology, which regards the organism as composed of organic individuals of different orders; the second essentially stereometric, promorphology.
