tachygraph|ˈtækɪgrɑːf, -græf| [a. F. tachygraphe, ad. Gr. ταχυγράϕος a swift writer, a scribe, f. ταχύ-ς swift + -γράϕος writing, writer.] 1. One who practises tachygraphy; a writer of shorthand, a stenographer; spec. one of the shorthand writers of the ancient Greeks and Romans.
