‖ synarthrosis Anat.|sɪnɑːˈθrəʊsɪs| Pl. -throses |-ˈθrəʊsiːz|. [mod.L., a. Gr. συνάρθρωσις, f. σύν syn-1 + ἄρθρωσις jointing, arthrosis.] A form of articulation in which the bones are firmly fixed so as to be incapable of moving upon one another, as in the sutures of the skull and the sockets of the teeth: distinguished from amphiarthrosis and diarthrosis.
