A perennial stemless plant of the arum family, Symplocarpus fœtidus, giving out an offensive odour, especially when bruised. Also used, esp. on the Pacific Coast, to designate Lẏsichiton camtschatcense, another member of the family Araceæ, or a false hellebore of the genus Veratrum, of the family Liliaceæ.
