夏天的一个下午，太阳像一火球一样把大地烤得火辣辣得。
On an afternoon in summer, the sun scorched the earth like a fireball.
小蚂蚁，小蚂蚱，小青蛙约好在池塘边的大树下见面。小蚂蚁到丁香树下摘了一片丁香叶，高高心心朝池塘边走去。小蚂蚱找了一片梧桐叶当作伞，朝池塘边走去。小青蛙换了一身绿衣服，摘了一片荷叶，蹦蹦跳跳地跳到了池塘边。
Little ants, little grasshoppers and little frogs are supposed to meet under the big trees by the pond. The little ant picked a clove leaf under the clove tree and walked towards the pond with high heart. The grasshopper found a Wutong leaf as an umbrella and walked towards the pond pond. The little frog changed his green clothes, picked a lotus leaf and jumped to the pond.
在池塘边的大树下，三个好朋友见面了。大家都兴奋极了，象几个快乐的小孩子，在树下顽皮地玩耍着。

不久在小青蛙的提议下大家决定来比一下谁的伞最大。小蚂蚁，小蚂蚱都拍手叫好。

小蚂蚁说：“我的伞是丁香叶做的，你们看把我全身都遮住了，我伞最大。”

小蚂蚱不服气地说：“我的是用梧桐叶做的，大大的，像椭圆形，你们看我身上一点阳光也照不到，我的伞最大。”

小青蛙也忙说：“我的是用荷叶做的，像一个圆盘，圆圆的，绿绿的，多大呀。我的伞最大。”
The little frog also said: "my one is made of lotus leaf, like a disc, round, green, how big.". My umbrella is the biggest. "
在他们争持不下的时候，突然天空扯过一片白云蒙住了太阳的脸，大家异口同声地说：“啊，原来这个才叫大伞，所有的伞都在他的伞下。”
