1. A descendant of Seth (occas. transf. a spiritual descendant of Seth).
1659Gell Ess. Amend. Transl. Bible 102 The Shethites and Shemites were and are taken up wholly or principally with matters of the life to come. 1863J. G. Murphy Comm.
