[f. late L. Scotticus (Scōticus) Scottish, Scotch (see Scotic) + -ize.]
1. trans. To imbue with Scottish ideas or characteristics.

2. To give a Scottish form to (a foreign word); to turn (a work) into Scottish dialect.
