Sézary, n. Path.

[The name of Albert Sézary (1880–1956), French dermatologist, who described the condition in 1938 (Bull. Soc. Fr. Derm. Syph. XLV. 254).]
Used attrib. or in the possessive, esp. as Sézary('s) syndrome, to designate a type of cutaneous lymphoma with symptoms including exfoliative dermatitis, intense pruritus, and the presence in the blood of atypical T lymphocytes with convoluted nuclei (sometimes called Sézary cells). (The syndrome is thought to be caused by human T cell leukaemia virus type 1, HTLV-1.)
