[Hindī paṭṭī band, bandage; cf. Skr. paṭṭa strip of cloth, bandage.]
A long strip of cloth wound spirally round the leg from the ankle to the knee, worn as a protection and support to the leg by sportsmen, soldiers, etc. Also attrib.
