A glucan, originally isolated from the lichen Umbilicaria pustulata, and present in various other lichens.
1953Whistler & Smart Polysaccharide Chem. xviii. 338 Pustulan, a polysaccharide isolated from the large lichen Umbilicaria, differs from lichenan in that it possesses β-1,6′ linkages and a specific optical rotation of -44°. 1965Jrnl.
