[f. mod.L. Pseudosuchia (K. A. von Zittel Handbuch der Palæont. (1890) Abth. I. III. 637), f. pseudo- + Gr. σοῦχ-ος crocodile: see -ian.]
A. n. A small fossil reptile belonging to the suborder Pseudosuchia of the order Thecodontia, which includes primitive, often bipedal, carnivores, whose remains have been found in Triassic formations.
B. adj. Of or pertaining to an animal of this kind.
