polyscope|ˈpɒlɪskəʊp| [f. poly- + -scope; so F. polyscope. Cf. Gr. πολύσκοπος far-seeing.] 1. An optical instrument through which objects appear multiplied; a multiplying-glass: spec. (see quot. 1842). Cf. polyoptron.
1704J. Harris Lex. Techn. I, Polyscopes, or Multiplying Glasses, are such as represent to the Eye one Object as many. 1842Brande Dict.
