A genus of fossil perissodactyl hoofed quadrupeds, whose remains are found in the Middle and Lower Tertiary strata. Hence ˈplioloph, an animal of this genus; pliˈolophoid a., resembling this genus, or belonging to the Pliolophoidea or Pliolophidæ, of which it is the type; n. a pliolophoid animal.
