The precursor of a plasmacyte. †a. (See quot.; cf. plasmocyte a.) Obs.
1897G. Eisen in Proc. Calif. Acad. Sci. (Zool.) I. 16 The polar accumulations must, therefore, be considered as something entirely separate from the balance of the cytoplasm; they, in fact, give rise to the plasmocytes, and may, therefore, appropriately be called plasmocytoblasts, or for the sake of brevity, plasmoblasts.
b. Also plasmablast. [a. G. plasmoblast (S. Moeschlin 1940, in Helv. Med. Acta VII. 231).] An immature plasma cell. Cf. plasmacyte.
