plagiostome, n. (a.)|ˈpleɪdʒɪəʊstəʊm| [a. F. plagiostome, f. plagio- + Gr. στόµα mouth.] A member of the Plagiostomi, cartilaginous fishes, including the sharks and rays, which have the mouth placed transversely beneath the snout.
