[First formed as G. piperazin (A. T. Mason 1887, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. XX. 267), f. piper(idin piperidine + azin azine.]
A colourless, crystalline, heterocyclic base, C4H10N2 which is used, in the form of a salt or hydrate, as an anthelminthic; also, a derivative of this. Also called pipeˈrazidine.
