piopio (ˈpjuːpjuː, ‖ ˈpiɔpiɔ) [Maori.] A small New Zealand bird, Turnagra capensis, resembling a thrush and belonging to the subfamily Pachycephalinæ, the whistlers or thickheads; also called the native thrush.
