1. Of the nature of, characterized by the presence of, or containing a phosphate.
p. diathesis, a bodily condition predisposing to the excretion of phosphates in the urine; cf. phosphaturia. p. nodules, hard rounded lumps containing phosphate of lime, of fossil origin, found in certain strata, now used as manure.
