A proprietary name used attrib. to designate screws having a slot in the form of an equal-armed cross, and corresponding screwdrivers.

The name of A. W. H. Phillips (1914–75), New Zealand economist, used attrib. or in the possessive in Phillips (or Phillips') curve, a supposed inverse relationship between the level of unemployment and the rate of inflation.
