The name of Richard Pfeiffer (1858–1945), German bacteriologist, used in the possessive and attrib. to designate: a. The specific lysis of the cholera vibrio in the presence of antibody and complement as described by him (in Zeitschr. für Hygiene und Infektionskrankh. (1893) XIV. 59).
