peptolysis |
| 释义 |
peptolysis Biochem.|pɛpˈtɒlɪsɪs| [f. peptone + -lysis.] The degradation of a peptone or polypeptide into smaller peptides or amino-acids. Cf. peptidolysis.
1904S. H. Vines in Ann. Bot. XVIII. 290 Accepting this connotation of ‘proteolysis’, the successive stages of the process may, I would suggest, be conveniently distinguished as—(a) peptonization, the conversion of the higher proteins into albumoses and peptones; and (b) peptolysis, the decomposition of peptones into nitrogenous but non-proteid substances. 1949H. Tauber Chem. & Technol. Enzymes vi. 130 The end products of peptolysis are mostly proteoses and peptones and small quantities of amino acids. Hence peptoˈlytic a., peptoˈlytically adv.
1904Ann. Bot. XVIII. 290 Trypsin..forms tryptophane as one of the products of its peptolytic activity. Ibid. 299 It was ascertained that a filtered watery extract of yeast was always peptolytically active, however short the period of extraction might be. 1915Chem. Abstr. IX. 2910 The formaldehyde titration for free amino groups in polypeptides and their hydrolytic products is a method practically adapted to the study of the action of peptolytic ferments on polypeptides. 1949H. W. Florey et al. Antibiotics I. i. 47 Gram positive proteolytic bacteria such as..staphylococci when grown with gram positive peptolytic bacteria..in a nitrogen-free medium secreted a bacteriolytic substance which dissolved the latter, thus making their nitrogen available. |
