a. A contrivance for cleaning a pen by wiping the ink from it; usually consisting of one or more pieces of cloth folded or fastened together, but also made in other forms (specified as ‘brush penwiper’, ‘tassel penwiper’, and the like); often of ornamental or fanciful design.
