A natural fat contained in palm-oil and many other animal and vegetable fats, obtained as a white solid, the tripalmitate of glyceryl, C₃H₅(C₁₆H₃₁O₂)₃. In pl. applied to the palmitates of glyceryl or glycerides of palmitic acid in general; the above being distinctively called tripalmitin.
