Nikonian, n. and a.|nɪˈkəʊnɪən| Also Niconian. [f. Nikon, the name adopted by Nikita Minin (1605–81), 6th Patriarch of Moscow + -ian.] A. n. An orthodox member of the Russian Church who accepted the reforms introduced by Nikon. B. adj. Of or pertaining to Nikon or his reforms. Hence Niˈkonianism.
