My Forgetful Father
I always think I have a forgetful father. He often forgets to do something. Sometimes he may forget to bring me some newspapers. Sometimes I ask him to buy a salty porridge, but he brings me the sweet one. To make things even worse, he isn’t conscious of this at all!
One day, it was getting dark. After we had supper, my father went to the hospital by bike to see his sister. His sister was ill in hospital. When he was back, my mother and I were both surprised, because he came back on foot. My mother asked him, “Where’s your bike?” He said, “I parked it in front of the hospital. But when I went out of the gate, I couldn’t find the bike, so I had to walk home!”
The next day, when we were walking in the street. My father was surprised to see his bike was on one side of the street, in front of a clothes shop. We were all very happy. But my father couldn’t explain this. He still thought he parked his bike in front of the hospital.
My mother and I both said to my father, “What a poor memory you have!”
