[f. Gr. µιξο-λύδιος half-Lydian: see mixo- and Lydian.]
The designation of (a) the highest in pitch of the modes in ancient Greek music; (b) the fourth of the ‘authentic’ ecclesiastical modes, having G for its ‘final’ and D for its dominant.
