[Jap., lit. ‘curved jewel’, f. magaru to curve, bend + tama jewel.]
A type of small, comma-shaped ornamental jewel, usu. made of green jade, worn as a pendant, earring, etc., esp. in Japan, where it also forms part of the imperial regalia.
