c1794T. Johnston in Shirreff Agric. Surv. Shetld. (1814) App. 46 On the berry heather and lobba pastures they [sheep] are at their prime from five to seven years old.1795G. Low in Statist. Acc. Scot. XIV. 316 [The hills] are covered with heath, and what we call lubba, a sort of grass which feeds our cattle in the summer time; it generally consists of different species of carices, plain bent, and other moor grasses.1822S.
