A. n. A native or inhabitant of the ancient duchy of Lotharingia in northern Europe, situated between the Rhine and the Scheldt from Frisia to the Alps.
B. adj. Of or pertaining to Lotharingia or its inhabitants, or to modern Lorraine (see quot. 1969). Cf. Lorrainer.
