Kitchen rudder
[Named after J. G. A. Kitchen, Englishman, who patented the device in 1914.]
A steering device for small craft consisting of a pair of curved deflectors either side of the propeller whose position is altered to change the course or speed of the vessel or to cause it to go backwards.
