A. adj. Taking an oath; swearing. In Sc. Hist. opposed to non-jurant, non-juring (q.v.).
1715Wodrow Corr. (1843) II. 23 Some judicious Non⁓jurors, who are firmly of opinion that the spring of this is from some Jurant brethren. 1720Ibid. 535 He had charged all his Jurant brethren as perjured, and yet came in afterwards and took the oath. 1837Carlyle Fr.
