Formerly, a young male slave; now a coloured male servant; also used as a familiar term of address to any person.

A Tibetan building (also, a territorial and administrative division) constituting a prefecture, freq. also serving as a fortress, a monastery, or both. Hence ˈdzongpön, ˈjongpen, jong-pon, a prefect; jong-nyer, a sub-prefect.
