An artificial language, based on Esperanto, selected by the ‘Delegation for the Adoption of an Auxiliary International Language’ (founded at Paris in 1901), and made public in 1907. Hence ˈIdist, ˈIdoist, a student or speaker of Ido; also attrib.
The official name is ‘Linguo Internaciona di la Delegitaro (Sistema Ido)’.
