Combining the ‘hypothetical’ (conjunctive) and disjunctive forms of statement: applied to a conditional proposition of which the consequent is disjunctive (e.g. If A is B, C is either D or E); also to that form of syllogism (the dilemma) in which one premiss is conjunctive and the other disjunctive. b. as n. A proposition or syllogism of this kind.
