[mod. f. hydrogen) + azo- (for azote) + -ine.]
A colourless stable gas, with strong alkaline reaction, also called diamidogen, N2H4; now used esp. in rocket fuels. Also extended to a class of compounds in which one or more of the Hydrogen atoms in this are replaced by a univalent radical, as ethyl hydrazine N2H3.C2H5.
