holaspidean, a. Zool.|hɒlæˈspɪdɪən| [f. mod.L. Holaspideæ (C. J. Sundevall Methodi Naturalis Avium Disponendarum Tentamen (1872) I. 53), f. Gr. ὅλος whole + ἀσπίς shield.] Pertaining to passerine birds that have a single series of large scutella on the posterior portion of the tarsus.
