[Late L. hexaēmeron (the title of a work by Ambrose) = Gr. ἑξαήµερον, neut. of ἑξαήµερος of or in six days, f. ἕξ six + ἡµέρα day; ἡ ἑξαήµερος was the title of a work by Basil.]
The six days of the creation; a history of the creation, as contained in Genesis; or a treatise thereon, as the works of Basil the Great and Ambrose.
