[f. Gr. ἑταῖρο-ς companion (see quot. 1877) + -lite.]
A black oxide of zinc and manganese, ZnMn2O4, isostructural with hausmannite and found in New Jersey associated with franklinite and with chalcophanite.
The mineral of quot. 1913 was later regarded as a separate species and named hydrohetærolite.
