Any of the discs which are arranged in stacks in the chloroplast, which are formed of membranes and in which the chlorophyll is incorporated.

I. i. 100 The chlorophyll appears to exist in an oily solution, and to be confined to the fibrillar portions of the plastid, in the form of droplets (grana). 1898H. C. Porter tr.
