[f. Gomorrah, Gomorrha, on analogy of other names in -ean.
According to the system used in the Bible of 1611, the normal transliteration of Heb. ﻋămōrā would be *Amorah. The Gr. form, however, was Γόµοῤῥα; in the N.T. this was adopted as Gomorrha, while in the O.T. the translators employed the hybrid spelling Gomorrah.]
