1858Simmonds Dict. Trade, Gagger, a lifter used by the founder, consisting of a light T-shaped piece of iron. 1888Lockwood's Dict. Mech. Engin., Gaggers or Gagers, short conical or pyramidal projections, cast upon core plates and the plates for loam moulds, to assist the adhesion of the loam. The term is sometimes applied also to lifters.
