[Fr., f. fuseler to shape like a spindle, f. fuseau spindle: see fusil1 and -age. So called from its spindle-like shape.]
The elongated body of an aeroplane, to which the wings and tail unit are attached and which (in modern aircraft) contains the crew and the passengers or cargo. (In early use given slightly varying meanings: see quots.)
