Draconic, a.|drəˈkɒnɪk|
[f. L. draco, -ōnem, ad. Gr. δράκων dragon, also f. the Greek personal name, Δράκων, Draco: see -ic.]
1. Of, pertaining to, or characteristic of Draco, archon at Athens in 621 b.c., or the severe code of laws said to have been established by him; rigorous, harsh, severe, cruel.
1708Motteux Rabelais v. xi. (1737) 43 Any Law so rigorous and Draconic. 1872Yeats Growth Comm. 35 Their criminal code, which was Draconic in severity.
2. Pertaining to, or of the nature of, a dragon.
