A ball which breaks from the leg (to a right-handed batsman), though bowled with an apparent off-break action in order to deceive the batsman; this type of delivery. Cf. Chinaman n. 4, googly n.
The doosra is bowled with straightening of the arm at the elbow; this has caused controversy and the technique has been the subject of a number of International Cricket Council inquiries. It is distinguished from the googly and the chinaman by being bowled with finger (not wrist) spin.
